Champion runner Caster Semenya won a potentially landmark legal decision for sports on Tuesday when the European Court of Human Rights decided she was discriminated against by rules in track and field that force her to medically reduce her natural hormone levels to compete in major competitions.
But the two-time Olympic championā€™s success after her two failed appeals inĀ sportsā€™ highest courtĀ in 2019 and theĀ Swiss supreme courtĀ in 2020 came with a major caveat. The ruling didnā€™t strike down the rules and the world track and field body said soon after it was released that the contentious testosterone regulations would ā€œremain in place.ā€

im so glad other people think carini was being a fucking asshole lmao. i didnt wanna detract from one of the posts i reblogged but i have to say that she takes punches for a living. some sources were acting like khalif put her in DANGER. with a single punch from someone in her own weight class?? yall are setting women back 80 years i fucking swear. not to mention the nasty intersexism targeted at khalif, doubly so because shes a black woman, and the misdirected transphobia from grifters like jkr

Thought: Lesterā€™s nickname from when he did archery should be Apollo! Because of how good he was! And now people call him and Rachel Apollo and the Oracle because of the thing with her predicting the athletes moves and and him already being nicknamed Apollo! Or something like that!
I really like this! And it fits into their canon identities perfectly. Almost, as if, I planned it that way šŸ©· Iā€™m so happy you agree it fits!
I love the idea of them both getting nicknames for being so good at what they do.

two others joining caster semenya (my beloved <3) in intersexy athletes of color team is reminding me of the middle school basketball team with 'tomboys' who were often targeted by teachers... thinking of them always. love gender deviant athletes of color forever.

So apparently right wingers are saying that WNBA player Brittney Griner is a trans woman due to her appereance, voice etc...gross. They did the same to Caster Semenya last year, I hate this.
(to be clear, trans women in sports are a great thing and must be supported, Iā€™m saying this type of transphobia is bad)

Itā€™s a bit dishonest to claim theĀ ā€˜banā€™ is discriminatory; the guidelines do not ban transgender women from all sporting events, as itā€™s been reported on in some countries, but only from sporting events in the female category. Transgender women are not female, so why should they be permitted to compete in the female category?
I think one of the major problems around the ā€˜debateā€™ is the infantilisation of female athletes. Weā€™re not seen as talented or capable as our male athletic counterparts, so our athletes and achieved can be framed as being about ā€˜inclusionā€™ and ā€˜funā€™ andĀ ā€˜artisticā€™ (rather than ā€˜competitiveā€™ or ļæ½ļæ½ļæ½seriousā€™ or ā€˜thrillingā€™).
I think one of the other major problems around theĀ ā€˜debateā€™ is the willingness of well-minded people to ignore how sex differences practically play out in patriarchy (or, in other words, people are just too ā€˜sex-blindā€™). Of course female and male athletes have different sporting capacities - our sports arenā€™t ā€˜gender-neutralā€™/ā€™body-neutralā€™ - theyā€™re designed to show-case male bodies!

Bruh sick brain is messing with me so much I ordered dominos and I saw the estimated delivery time was getting shorter and I was like oh theyā€™re going faster than they thought how nice
I forgot about the passage of time
I forgot time was passing and thatā€™s why the estimated delivery time was getting closer.

Basically sports are never going to be a Totally Fair And Equal playing field where the only thing that determines your success is how hard you work because there are always going to be a million different types of bodies and genetic potentials in any category you might think to create. AND it is worth having SOME categories to make sports a little closer to fair and give more people a chance to be competitive. But the categories people choose to obsessively, rigidly police, the things about which people will say "THIS thing has to be EXACTLY EQUAL, nevermind all the other things that are not equal that I will never mention"... are. Do all these people that say 'trans women shouldn't compete with women because they are biologically male - they have too much testostrone etc' realise that putting these restrictions in for trans women is only gonna lead to cis women getting fucked over too??
